Facebook In's and Outs

You trying to advertise your business with shopping club, giveaway, perhaps you want to share your bargains.

 Are you using facebook to its maximum potential to advertise your business?  It could be your shopping club, giveaways, or perhaps just your specials that you offering on your website. You can share that on your fan page!

facebook was originally created to be a high school yearbook online for college kids.  Became the social event of the year and people finding lost friends and loved ones. There so many possibilities these days for facebook fan pages.  You don’t have to have just a wall.  If you not familiar with facebook I can help you get started.  Facebook has taken over the social media presentation.  

To get you started, you set up an account with facebook.  Perhaps you have an account to play games or socialize with friends.  I actually set mine up to connect with my adult kids and find friends from home. Some people set it up to play games, find a new love, or old high school friends.  Facebook has grown so much now you can advertise your business through your fan page.  You use your personal account to establish relationships with people.  You create a fan page to establish business relationships.   The friends you meet on facebook you can develop a social relationship and then share with them your business opportunities through your fan page.  Your fan page does get picked up by google. Once your page is established and going, search engines start acknowledging your page.  These means potential customers can click on “nowas network for example and it show up with website but also my fan page.  Gives people outside of my facebook world a chance to see my fan page.       

You start out with facebook account which is free.  This is so wonderful at this time everything is free except for ads. You get a wall where you can find your friends and start sharing with each other.  From your personal wall  you can add “apps”.  I added pages and advertising to mine.   Your fan page that you add to your account gets a wall also.  On your wall for your fan page you can share pictures or specials whatever you want. Facebook asks that you keep it family friendly because people of all age search facebook.  They don’t shy against adult parties as long as you in good taste. From your wall (facebook has been upgrading)…your pics slide in a album on the top of the page.  You can add your specials plus now you can add other pages.  I recommend a welcome page to welcome your customers and share your business.  My pages are similar to my homepage on my site. Your page can be whatever you want it to be.  Then you can name other pages… I suggest shopping club pages, giveaway if you do a giveaway maybe drawing, maybe a page that shares your yahoogroup, a page that shares group specials,    maybe a page to share your eBay specials, whatever works for you and your business.  You can have a page.  They do not recommend java script although facebook has its on java look up now.  I am still working on learning that.  Sorry backgrounds not allowed unless you have a template. 

What I do is take regular html..I cheat I use Microsoft frontpage which gives me the html code.  I put my pictures mostly on my website to link to the pics. Facebook has their own mark up now its called FBML I change the html to the facebook FBML and make extra pages.    What I charge for is to add pages for you and I can show you how to change your pages or if you like $10 a month I update your pages for you.  I have a fan page for all my main sites at this time.

You can pay the pros anywhere from $20 to $200… or you can work with me. I help you learn your own ins and outs so you don’t need the pros.  My goal is to help you with the least amount of money out of your pocket.  You can use your money for other things like living expenses and upgrading your business.

You can have events on facebook like online parties.  There starting to have groups now on facebook.  Lots of possibilities!  My husband and I are working on how to do the facebook storefronts. Once we master the storefronts, we be offering those as part of our services.
